Have
you ever wondered what Christmas in another country would be like? Our
Christmas in Canada Program offers students the opportunity to experience
a Canadian Christmas and to participate in a variety of activities while
learning English. Activities may include: sleigh rides, Christmas cooking,
snowshoeing, making Christmas decorations, decorating a Christmas tree,
just to name a few.
What are the features of the Christmas in Canada Program?

are assessed and placed in the appropriate level.

curriculum designed to learn about Canadian Christmas traditions.

on Canadian Christmas traditions.

classes, allowing instructors to focus on individual needs.

Winter
Study Tours
are
offered at the Canadian Centre for Language Training in Charlottetown,
the capital city of our province. Charlottetown has all of the features
of a large city with the close, personal touch of a small town.
CCLT
provides students with a modern setting that includes an extensive library
and a computer-assisted language lab with the newest technology available
for students.
The
Christmas in Canada Study Tour is offered at Helens Homestay and
English School in Tryon. Located on the South Shore of Prince Edward Island,
Tryon is a scenic farming community where you will be welcomed as a member
of your homestay family.

Size: maximum of 12 students per instructor

of Participants: 16 years and older
Hours
of Instruction: 30 hours per week

The program fees include: deposit, homestay placement, airport
pick-up and drop-off (Charlottetown), accommodations, 3 meals a day, local

In all of our programs students have the opportunity to participate
in Canadian culture, first hand. Enjoy winter activities like a sleigh
ride or skiing, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate by a fire, or
try making a local craft. In addition to these activities, you can
also visit a number of museums and parks.

We
have developed a curriculum especially for short-term language programs
such as the Winter Study Tour or Christmas in Canada Program. We are sure
that these materials are quite unlike any other that you may experience
and will provide you with an interesting introduction to Canadian culture
and language.

Chosen Homestay Families
To
ensure quality in our homestay families, we perform our own homestay placement
services. Our homestay coordinator visits and approves all of our homestay
families before they can receive students. We take care to individually
match the host family and student.

It is a program for students who want to improve their English for personal
or job-related purposes.
The
IEP will give you the opportunity to develop well-rounded English language
skills so you can understand and express yourself clearly in everyday

Junior
Vacation/Language and Culture Program (10 to 15 years old) (June 25th to August 24th 2012)

Our
Junior Vacation Programs (known in some areas as a Summer Camp or Summer
Language and Culture Program) are for students aged 10-12 and 13-15 who
would like to experience Canadian language and culture while developing
their English language skills.
This
program is located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, an area famous
in Canada as a family summer vacation destination because of its safe,
friendly atmosphere.
The
Junior Vacation program has daily activities that focus on Prince Edward
Islands history, natural beauty, or culture.

The school is offering dormitory accommodations with 24
hour adult supervision so that you know that your children are safe when
they are away. At the dormitories the students will have three balanced
meals a day, easy access to indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and
class-rooms next door.

its friendly people and clean environment. Because we understand how precious
your children are, we make an extra effort to see that they will be safe
and happy.
Cultural
Activities
To maximize their exposure to the English language and Canadian culture,
we have cultural activities scheduled. Our capital city is the site of
the meeting to form Canada and we have several museums and parks.
